Here are the top 5 pieces of news that have caught my attention in the fitness world lately. From podcasts to studies to influential lists, here’s the information you need to know right now:

1) Did you hear the news about Bob Harper? The ‘Biggest Loser’ trainer suffered from a heart attack and is now in recovery. It is such alarming news, but happy that he’s feeling better and taking it easy. Read the article here.

2) Greatist’s Top 100 Most Influential List Came Out. Among the top 100 was my friend, Todd Durkin. Congrats to him! Find out who else made the list here.

3) There’s a new podcast in town and it mixes mystery and intrigue with a fitness icon. "Finding Richard Simmons” came out a few weeks ago and is on its 3rd episode. On February 15, 2014, Richard Simmons removed himself from the public eye and even from his closest friends and no one knows why. This podcast attempts to uncover the facts about his disappearance. Download the podcast here.

4) A new study was just published in the journal Obesity found something that many of us have been thinking for awhile: Long-term stress might lead to a higher body mass index. Read more about the study here.

5) What is it like to work out with Ruth Bader Ginsburg's (the oldest justice on the Supreme Court) personal trainer? Hard. "Justice Ginsburg does 10 pushups and she does not do the so-called ‘girl pushups.” Read the article titled "I Did Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s Workout. It Nearly Broke Me” here.

Cheers,
